ClearOne announced the availability of two new camera control modules for Extron control systems that work with ClearOne’s BMA 360 Beamforming Microphone Array Ceiling Tile and ClearOne’s UNITE 200. The modules also work with other Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera that complies with the industry-standard VISCA control protocol. The new Extron modules will be available as free software downloads this month.

One of the new modules is designed for use with the Extron IP Link Pro Control Processor Series, the Media Link Plus Controller Series, the HC 400 Series and the TLS Pro Series. The other module is designed for use with the Extron IP Link Pro Control Processor Series. The new modules simplify the configuration of the BMA 360’s camera control feature and come with a graphical interface that associates PTZ presets in the camera with BMA 360 Beam Reports.

When a local talker activates a given beam in the BMA 360, the control modules recall the associated PTZ preset in the camera. The modules also incorporate a “No Active Beam” detection feature that can return the camera to a “home” position after a period of voice inactivity.

ClearOne’s customers asked for a pre-programmed solution that would cover most camera tracking applications. The new module introduced today represents a product-quality implementation for control of up to two PTZ cameras per Extron module that is ready for immediate deployment by AV integrators. Multiple instances of this module can be configured to control more than two cameras.
